Grants Program Application Process

The Nourishing Communities Grants Program provides financial support to local 501(c)(3) nonprofit meal programs that serve nutritious food to people facing food insecurity. By strengthening the capacity of community-based meal programs, the grants program aims to increase access to affordable, nutritious food for vulnerable populations struggling with food poverty, supporting the mission and activities of qualified nonprofit organizations.

The Nourishing Communities Grant Program support will be directed to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations operating meal programs to feed the underserved in the communities providing fundraising initiatives.

Applications are currently closed until Spring of 2025.

Grants range from $1000 to $10,000. Support will be directed to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations operating meal programs to feed the underserved.

Grants can be used to expand kitchen facilities, purchase cooking equipment, source nutrient-dense ingredients, support community gardens, and cover other operational costs to enhance the quality and reach of vital hunger relief services.

We have an open application process for organizations in Texas, Oklahoma, Nevada, and Arizona.

Approved 2024 grant applications will be notified in January 2025.

What documents do I need to complete the application?

You will need to provide: Your most recent audited financial statement, 990, list of Board Members and key staff, detailed budget for the grant funds, and any examples you have of successful program outcomes or client testimonials. You can download the full list and instructions here.

How will I know you've received my application and are reviewing it?

You will receive an email confirmation from us that we have received your application. If we need additional information from you, we will let you know.

When will I hear back about whether my application was accepted?

In January 2025, we will send an email notification if you have or have not been approved for the grant.

If I am not approved in January, can I apply again for the next round?

Yes, you may apply again in 2025.

What if I'm not in Texas, Oklahoma, Nevada, or Arizona?

At this time, we do not offer programs outside of these states. We are growing and hope to be in more communities very soon.
